Celery, something new to try

It is true, celery is not new. It’s just that I have never tried it in my garden. I seldom hear of anyone being successful with celery in my neck of the USDA zone map.

Celeriac: a single square of this celery cousin is hanging on in my garden. I imagined it would be larger by now. Nov. 2, 2011

Mr. H (blog owner of Subsistence Pattern) writes that most celery is rather tough and stringy. He managed to get seed from a farmer in Australia that is far better than American celery. I’ll try whatever I can get. According to this post when potted celery goes into the root cellar (an unheated, dark garage where I live) it blanches and becomes tender.
