The sons of Israel did so; and Joseph gave them wagons, according to the command of Pharaoh, and gave them provisions for The Journey. Genesis 45:21 RSV
I love Hebrew. I cannot speak it, but as I learn, I love it!
This Way Point is tucked into the passage found in Genesis 45: 4-28. This is the passage that tells us of the shocking moment when Yowceep (Joseph) reveals his true identity to his shocked brothers. Yowceep long ago laid the memory of his brothers treachery in YHVH’s lap. He is free to see the truth of what happened. He was divinely sent ahead to preserve live and protect “the seed” that will one day be Y’shua (Jesus). However, the brothers carry the guilt of what they did to their brother, as well as to their father. They have changed, but change came under the burden of guilt. Yowceep, as a slave, then a prisoner, has lived free because of giving his burden to God. What a difference. The free men are now beggars while the prisoner-slave is a powerful ruler.
God does miracles. If you will trust him with your secret pain, refusing to fix things yourself, allowing Him to sort out your life He will make something he always intended, Beauty and joy that give him praise.
The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion–
to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.
Isaiah 61:1-3 NIV
I LOVE this passage for Isaiah. God intends for your life to be beautiful. Your test might be waiting while God does the hard work of cleaning your life of the ugly bits. It is painful but there WILL BE beauty and gladness to His glory. You are the splendor of YHVH (the LORD). This is the testimony of Yowceep’s life. God had a purpose for everything he did. I am praying that it becomes the testimony of your life too.
Be still, knowing that He is God, your life, your circumstances are not too much for him.
