Clam Dip

There isn’t really a recipe for clam dip. There is only a list of ingredients and garlic salt to taste. The original probably came for grandma’s recipe box in the 50’s. There is NOTHING healthy about this at all.

Jewel's clam dip next to her NOEL (or LEON or LOAN) angels.

Clam dip is…..

  • 8 oz full fat, quality cream cheese.
  • about 3/4 cup full fat (best foods) mayonnaise
  • 2 (6.5 oz) cans chopped or minced clams–drained.
  • Garlic salt to taste (from a scant 1/2 tsp to 2 tsp)

Put everything into a small mixing bowl, stir it together, taste to see if you got it right.

Tips: You can microwave the cream cheese for 20 seconds to soften it before adding the rest of the ingredients.

I like to sprinkle sliced scallions, parsley, chives, or fresh basil on top. Every man in my house believes these extras are an abomination.

Serve with chips.
