“The Toy Box” April 2012
Everything is bursting from the ground and pots. The tomatoes (there are way too many tomatoes), artichokes, eggplant, peppers, and greens, greens, greens! The box near the chicken house is full of leeks. Beyond that box is another with cipollino onions, brocoli, cauliflower, lettuces. New for me is something called Chinese Kale which is coming along.
Peas are in their squares in (what was) box 6. The Italian Import peas (featured in the How to Get Inoculation to Stick to Peas video), Golden Sweet Snow peas, Cascadia Snap peas and Maestro shelly peas are also planted in that same box. There is a poly cover on the pea box. It is really weird to go out with the hose to water the garden when I have to slosh through the sopping wet yard to get water to the peas. They are coming along and will soon need string to hold on to.
Baby tomatoes, nice variety, too many for me to use.
