Word Study, wind (Luke 8:23)
The first time I read this passage in English (not that I can read it any other way), I was sure that the word translated “wind” was going to be the Greek word “pnuma” which is also translated spirit. But this is #417 ánemos; Wind (metaphorically as the emblem of instability of empty doctrin or an unstable opinion).
As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; Eph 4:14 NASU
